Danielle Bernstein, founder of WeWoreWhat and a mega-influencer, has created a WeWoreWhat credit card co-branded with Imprint. Bernstein has ventured into technology, apparel, accessories, and even a novel. She is now adding a credit card to the list. She is taking her power as an influencer into uncharted territory.
Many retailers have created successful credit cards, think Amazon Rewards Visa and Macy’s American Express Card. And celebrities have co-branded not-as successful credit cards, too, think Kardashian Kard of 2010. However, the WWW card is the first of its kind, being created by an influencer.
We all know that influencer marketing is at an all-time high but what is in the future of an influencing career, no one is to say. Bernstein is betting on herself and her following to see if their finances can be influenced, too.
According to the official press release, her card will offer cardholders “10% back at WeWoreWhat, 5% at partner brands [handpicked by Bernstein], and 1% everywhere else.”
Bernstein has been caught in the crossfire of scandals in the past for supposedly stealing small-business’ designs and “accusations of copyright infringement,” says the Daily Mail. Her backlash seems to be following her to this new venture. Only time will tell how well this credit card is received.
